Considering the gap in price, that’s not a surprise.īut these do sound good.

Switching between the two, the difference is clear. Even the WhatsApp message delivery pop sound doesn’t quite pierce your ears in the same way. They don’t have the the oomph of Samsung’s pricier headphones. Saskilla’s JD bag Remix, which has a meandering punchy bass and harsh highs, isn’t as richly presented in the Buds 2 as they are the Pro. There’s an overall feeling of individual elements being slightly less distinguishable than the Buds Pro, with a more restricted soundstage. The Samsung Galaxy Bus 2 sound good for the price. There’s a bit of punch, but not wildly powerful bass (although you can tweak this in EQ settings to a point) and they hit the high frequencies well, but not in the same tier as the Buds Pro.
Buds pro#
The difference between these and the Pro buds is a less rich audio output. The Buds 2 sound decent for their price range. Samsung also says low protrusion means there's less direct contact with wind too. There’s no wind-shield technology here to filter out rushing air instead, the Buds 2 utilize AI to isolate your voice during a call. Under the hood, the new earbuds have a tweeter, woofer and three microphones around each bud for noise cancellation and improved call quality. They do, however, have that plugged-in feeling that can make some people feel uncomfortable because they don’t have a spatial air vent like the Pixel Buds 2, Buds Live or Buds Pro. They aren’t as precariously balanced in my ears like other, larger buds. I’m not sure if they provide better passive noise cancellation, but I do find the fit more sturdy. To my eye the part of the headphone that digs into your ear canal is more elongated than the Buds Pro. If you look at me head-on with them in, they’re not wildly obvious, and likely won’t be on you unless you have a loud colorway. This is welcome for two reasons they don’t protrude from my ears (unlike the Buds Pro) and therefore are less likely to fall out.
Buds plus#
At 5g per bud, they’re smaller and lighter than the Buds Plus (6.3g) and Buds Pro (6.4g).

The first thing that was immediately clear to me in my inaugural fumbling of the buds was how much smaller they are in comparison to all other Samsung headphones.
